FAQ

Our products

What does it do?

Six Thirty devices shine red and near-infrared light onto your skin. Research on these wavelengths suggests regular sessions may help soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth skin texture and improve overall complexion. See how it works.

How often should I use it?

Session times vary by device, so check the product page and the instructions that come with it. The trials we cite used two to three sessions a week, so that's a good place to start.

When will I see results?

Changes are gradual. Studies measured results after four weeks to about four months of regular use. Take a photo in the same light every fortnight so you can compare.

Does it hurt?

It shouldn't. The light is low-level: not hot like a heat lamp, and not harsh like a laser. If anything feels uncomfortable, stop and take the device off.

Is it safe?

The light isn't UV, so it won't tan or burn you. Keep your eyes closed during a session and don't look directly into the lights. Check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take medicine that makes you sensitive to light, you're pregnant, or you have an eye or skin condition.

Can I use it with my skincare?

Use the device on clean, dry skin, then apply your usual serums and moisturiser afterwards. If you use prescription skincare, check with your GP or pharmacist first.

Will it help with breakouts?

We don't claim it will. The blue light studied for breakouts sits around 415 nm. The blue setting on our face devices is 460 nm, so we don't sell Six Thirty for breakouts.

About us

Who's behind Six Thirty?

We're a small, Kiwi-owned business. We started Six Thirty because we wanted red light products that everyday people could afford, with the specs published so you can see exactly what you're getting.

Why "Six Thirty"?

630 nm sits in the red band that skin research focuses on, and 6:30 pm is when we think it fits best: ten minutes, lights down, phone away.
